The Grand Canyon is the northwest side of the Arizona and also it was very close to the border of the Itah and Vevada. Most of the Frand Canyon lies within Grand Canyon National Park; it is managed but the National Park Service and the Hualapai Tribal Nation with the Havasupai Tribe. The Colorado River which is flowing though the canyon and touches seven states, but the Grand Canyon national park is with the Arizona state borders. The Arizona is known as Grand Canyon State and is was attached Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is in the Utah and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area borders and Grand Canyon in the Nevada.
Visitor Center and Mather Point Overlook
If you are entering the park at the South Entrance, from the direction of Williams, the best thing to do is head directly to the visitor center. A few displays show a brief overview of the park and a little about the history. The park staff are on hand to answer questions and provide information on hikes and attractions. From the visitor center, a short path leads to Mather Point Overlook, where there are a couple of large viewing areas on a peninsula jutting out into the canyon.
The Rim Trail
The Rim Trail is a mostly paved walking path that follows the rim of the Grand Canyon for 13 miles, from South Kaibab Trailhead, east of the Visitor Center, to Hermit's Rest, at the far west end of Hermit Road. This nearly level path, with a mix of sun and shade from scattered trees, is one of the most scenic walks in North America, with fabulous views during the entire distance of the trail.
Geological Museum
One of the most interesting and informative exhibits in Grand Canyon National Park is the Geological Museum. The location for this museum was chosen by a group of high profile geologists in the 1920's because the views from here were the most representative of the geology of the canyon.
Hermit Road Drive
Hermit Road was 7 miles scenic drive along the canyon rim with the numerous viewpoints. This is the most popular route in the park. If you are visiting between the beginning of December and the end of February, you can do this drive in your own vehicle.
The best times to visit the Grand Canyon are March through May and September through November when daytime temperatures are cool and the crowds are thin. If the visitor are decide to visit during the summer then this the park's peak season, be prepared for hordes of tourists and very limited lodging availability and the visitors are can find deals on hotels during the winter but in the month of much of the park also including the entire North Rim was closes after the first snowfall. The South Rim is open year-round.
The most of the visitor are fly into Phonix Sky Harbor Airport for the Grand Canyon, because it is the closest of the international airport of the South Rim and this place is the most visited part of National Park; Just over 3.5 hours drive. Sky Harbor is the 8th busiest airport of the US. According to Airports Council International, moving over than 40.5 million passengers in a single year. Total 1,300 flights arrive and depart daily, making it the logical choice for flying into Arizona for a Grand Canyon vacation.
